Day 1 of my Japan trip was an adventure right from the start. I headed to Incheon Airport, but the first bus was too crowded, so I had to wait for the next one, which took about an hour and 20 minutes. I had booked my round-trip flight with Air Premia, which included both carry-on and checked luggage. Unfortunately, there was a six-hour delay at the airport and an additional hour of delay in the air due to air traffic. Despite the long wait, I was pleasantly surprised to find myself in premium economy, with plenty of legroom and a small meal on the short 2.5-hour flight. Before boarding, I grabbed a surprisingly delicious Taco Bell meal, which, although pricey at 13,000W, was worth it. The flight itself was delayed, and I sat sweating on the plane without air conditioning for an hour, but the flight attendants were kind enough to bring me water regularly. We finally took off around 3 PM instead of the scheduled 10:55 AM departure.
Upon landing in Tokyo, going through security was quick and easy. I was nervous about my full sleeve tattoo, but the people were kind, which eased my anxiety. I then took two trains to Shinjuku and didn’t arrive at my capsule hotel until around 10 PM. Walking around Japan was fascinating; everyone dressed so differently compared to Korea, and it was hard to guess anyone's age. For dinner, I enjoyed a delicious beef gyudon bowl and spent the evening exploring the area and sightseeing before stopping by a 7-11 to plan for the next day. Looking forward to Day 2!
